Description

Château Grand-Puy Ducasse was classified 5th growth in the famous 1855 classification. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are planted on a gravel soil, typical of Pauillac. "The name “Prélude” states the ambition of this second wine to provide a true introduction to the “Grand Vin.

The second wine of Château Grand-Puy Ducasse, this cuvée is made from the domaine’s younger vines (20 years). Sustainable farming, hand harvests, meticulous sorting and a parcel by parcel vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel define the winemaking. Oak barriques with only a very small proportion of new oak are used for the elevage, ensuring a fresh, fruit forward wine. Delicate yet harmonious, this wine does not need years in the cellar to reveal its charms.

Blend Ratio (Estimate): 60% Cabernet Sauvignon & 40% Merlot

Ruby red frank and bright. Soft notes of red and black fruits. Supple and sweet attack, harmonious finish with silky tannins and palate.
