Description

Two elements helped the Cabernet Sauvignon to reach the level of a great vintage in 2014: the grapes grew less after the rain in the summer and they began ripening earlier. The extension of the ripening cycle, due to their growth stopping earlier than the Merlot, allowed them to benefit magnificently from the sunny late summer season.

The high quality Merlot from the plateau, incorporated in smaller quantities than usual, provided an excellent complement to the blend bringing roundness and aromatic richness

Tasting Notes

Blend Ratio (Estimate): 65.4% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 0.6% Carmenere

Remarkable color intensity of a deep dark ruby. The nose is complex, rich in berry aromas, strawberry and raspberry are the most notable notes and then one finds subtle hints of wood and vanilla. Beautiful balance between the fruity notes and those givenby barrel-ageing. Great texture with a delicate attack and a very aromatic finish.

Serving Suggestions

Best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken. Generally goes well with roasted, braised and grilled dishes.
