Alpasion Grand Cabernet Franc, 2020

Description

The people behind this project are all wine lovers who decided to make a dream come true by making honest, iconic wines together. We decided to name our inaugural release “Alpasión,” a combination of the Spanish “alma” (soul) and “pasión” (passion). The Alpasión label features the fingerprints and signatures of all of the winery’s owners as testimony to friendship for life.

Tasting Notes

Aged in French Bordeaux style barrels for 12 months. Cabernet Franc is quite “in” at the moment so we wanted to follow the trend and come out with something different, innovative and trendy.

Ruby colour with garnet hues. Dense and deep with notes of sour cherries, white pepper, graphite, liquorice. Mouthfeel is rather chewy, warm and peppery, spicy almost. On the palate it’s sapid and toasty with dark chocolate and coffee. A long and beautiful finish.

Serving Suggestions

Pair with dark meat poultry, roasted pork, and leaner cuts of red meat
