Vintage: 2017
Size: 750ml
Ratings: Robert Parker Wine Advocate 94, Tim Atkin 97, Vivino 4.4
Grape Blend: 96% Tempranillo (Fine red) 3% Cabernet Sauvignon 1% Merlot
'I was very pleasantly surprised by the bottled 2017 Vivaltus despite the fact that 2017 was a challenging year and was decimated by terrible frost in April that resulted in losses of up to 60% of the crop. The end of the season was warm and the harvest early, so the growing cycle was quite short. The wine is floral, perfumed, elegant and insinuating; the oak feels pretty integrated, and the palate is balanced with very good tannins'

Description
Description
Ramón Martínez, Jesús Yllera and José Yllera; three men with a long family wine tradition who came together in the 80s to share a challenge, with the spirit of doing something different and better in the Rueda area.
The Yllera; descendants of a long family tradition dedicated to wine. Ramón Martínez; grandson of the founder of the Riojan Bodegas Berberana. United by a common project that they expanded over time, producing wines in other DOs and PGI
In the 2010s, they began this work of searching for excellence in Ribera de Duero, as it is one of the appellations with the greatest potential in Spain. They share this project with a remarkable teacher: Jean-Claude Berrouet, considered by many to be the best winemaker in the world.
