Château Canon, originally Clos St-Martin, is a Bordeaux Wine from the Saint Emillion appelation, ranked among the Premiers grands crus classés B in the Classification of St Emillion wines.

In 1996, the Wertheimer family became the owner of the Chanel group and took over the property till this date. The vineyard is completely restructured and important investments are made under the impetus of John Kolasa. Even today, everything is done to preserve the heritage of this fabulous vintage, in an eternal and indefatigable care of perfection.

Grape Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

The 2006 Chateau Canon has a vivid, kirsch and wild strawberry bouquet with touches of orange zest and marmalade, a touch of mushroom in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, sage and melted tar. There is wonderful structure here, and superb salinity, completely fulfilling the promise it demonstrated out of bottle. Perhaps yes, I was a little over-enthusiastic at that time, but after ten years, it has foraged wonderful focus and vivacity. Seek this out.
