Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, commonly referred to as Château Pichon Lalande, is a renowned Second Growth Grand Cru Classé located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. It is widely considered a "super second," often rivaling the quality of First Growth estates. Adjacent to Château Latour and across the road from its 'brother' estate, Château Pichon Baron, the estate has been owned by the Rouzaud family, owners of the prestigious Louis Roederer Champagne house, since 2007.
Historically known for a higher percentage of Merlot in its blend compared to other Pauillac wines, resulting in a "fleshy, tender and sensual" character, often described as more "feminine". In recent years, under the direction of Nicolas Glumineau, the blend has shifted to a higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, moving towards greater structure and power while retaining elegance.
