Allan Scott

Allan Scott

Second generation Marlborough winemakers.

Allan Scott's story is entwined in the very roots of Marlborough winemaking. Allan planted some of the region’s most famous vineyards in 1973, including the very first vines, and has worked here every vintage since.

In 1990, he and his wife Catherine founded Allan Scott Family Winemakers, one of the region’s first independent wineries, a special place where grapes are grown, harvested, made into iconic wines, some bottled, labelled, packaged and sent to market.

For 35 vintage, Allan (Pictured extreme left) and his children have worked tirelessly to make fantastic Marlborough wines at very approachable prices.

Their son Josh (Pictured extreme right) and younger daughter Sara (Pictured wearing a  Green dress) assumed control of the company and head up the production, management and development of the company with a highly skilled operational team.

Along with the core range of Allan Scott Estate wines, there is a single vineyard selection of prestige wines that uses the best grapes and careful cellaring to produce a limited volume of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir, with names like Hounds and Wallops to depict their origin.

Consistently quoted by Wine Spectator in its Top 10 Best Buy wines of each year, Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc is the signature wine of the estate.
