Burgerspital

Burgerspital

700 years of History and Tradition.

Bürgerspital in Würzburg is a VDP wine estate in Franconia established since 1316 (One of Germany's oldest winery). In our 120 hectare vineyards we cultivate classic varieties such as Silvaner, Riesling and wines from Pinot varieties and all the best white wines are bottled in Bocksbeutel (which we have done for more than 300 years of our history)

Our most valuable heritage are the unique vineyards, especially the Würzburger Stein, Stein-Berg and the Stein-Harfe. It is our greatest motivation to produce the absolute best quality from these top sites: Unmistakable wines that show the unique character of each vineyard and bear the signature of Bürgerspital.

A Reputation for Excellence

We are a founding member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) and our wines are classified according to the VDP.KLASSIFICATION: The narrower the origin, the higher the quality. The VDP.Eagle unites around 200 of Germany’s finest wineries. Any time that eagle adorns the neck of a wine bottle, it promises that the wine inside is of the highest quality!
