Description

Château Clos Les Lunelles is a prestigious Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux estate acquired in 2001 by Gérard and Chantal Perse (owners of Château Pavie)

This property of 9 hectares is situated on the hill of Sainte-Colombe, a clay limestone plateau. The vineyard is planted with 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes

The color reveals the concentration; it's a deep, inky black, almost purple. The nose offers fresh fruit, beautiful ripeness, black berries, and powerful spices.

On the palate, the wine is round and smooth, with tannins that are firm and still somewhat angular, yet integrate well. These are the typical tannins of the Côtes de Castillon, which are prominent in the mid-palate. The vintage feels a bit tighter than others; this wine will need to be tasted again after aging, which will refine its structure.

There are no vegetal notes, and the finish is long and satisfying.
Serving Suggestions

Ideal pairings include roast chicken, duck breast, pork tenderloin, grilled beef rib, and lamb with thyme. They also complement mushroom risotto, pasta, and hard cheeses like Comté
