Description

Luce della Vite has been founded at the beginning of the 1990s by the Tuscan aristocrat and winemaker, Vittorio Frescobaldi, and the renowned American winemaker Robert Mondavi. They were brought together by the desire of creating excellent Tuscan wines in Montalcino. Luce della Vite means “light of vine”, as a reference to the sun: the source of life, energy and warmth.

Brunello di Montalcino – the wine made from Sangiovese grapes – is the highest-quality wine inspired by unique territory: it was first made in Montalcino in the second half of the 19th century and was the first in Italy to achieve the DOCG status, back in 1980.

Tasting Notes

The 2015 vintage at Tenuta Luce will be a year to remember for the great quality and health of the grapes. Weather conditions were characterized by a crisp and rainy spring that provided the grapevines with the right stimuli and to develop significant water reserves in the subsoil, which is key to heat-related stresses to the vinest during the dry and sunny summer months.

Subsequently, the excellent temperature ranges in September contributed to the perfect phenolic ripening of the grapes. The aromatic ripening benefited from the cool days preceding the harvest thus allowing us to obtain healthy, intact grapes with small and sparse bunches, which are ideal for the production of an excellent Brunello Luce 2015.

Serving Suggestions

It goes ideally well with pork, chicken, roast and game meat, grilled or roasted and medium mature cheeses
