Description

In 1995 Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick pioneered an international joint venture with a very challenging goal: to reach the full potential of Chile’s wine country and to create a world-class Icon-level wine like none other in Chile.
Sharing their dream, efforts and dedication, in 1997 they released the first vintage of Seña (1995), Chile’s first icon wine. This marked a milestone and initiated the path for making ultra-premium wines in Chile.
Today, although the road has begun, there is still much to do and go. Eduardo Chadwick’s daughters, María Eugenia, María Magdalena, María José and Alejandra, not only give joy and meaning to the life of Seña’s founder because of their family ties, but also because they are venturing into the wonderful world of viticulture.
Tasting Notes

Blend: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, 10% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot

Very hot, low crop, very early season.Scented, intense wines with full tannic structure.

"Of a bright, garnet red colour with beautiful violet sparkles, the 2017 vintage of Seña unwinds in a display of attractive aromas of blueberries, cherries, some cloves, violets and cassis, framed by so pastry notes, and a delicate final touch of liquorice. On the palate, it is juicy, very fresh and lively, with tannins that provide support and structure to wine with amazing persistence and personality, and that will age gracefully over time. is is perhaps one of the most complete and definitive versions of Seña that we have crafted so far

Serving Suggestions

The rich aromas and powerful tannins of Seña make it an ideal companion for grilled or roasted meats, such as beef tenderloin, roast lamb, or game like venison or wild boar. These robust meats highlight the wine's tannic structure while balancing its concentration of dark fruits.
