Bürgerspital is a wine-growing estate with 120 hectares in the Franken region of Germany. Situated in a beautiful and historic courtyard right in the middle of Würzburg city, it is one of the oldest and largest wine-growing estates in Germany
Started with the endowment of a nobleman in 1316, Bürgerspital is widely recognized as one of the best German wineries. It is also a founding member of the VDP - an Association of Germany's Top-Quality Wine-Growing Estates. A distinguishing feature all VDP wines show is the Bundesadler - the single-headed eagle on the neck of the bottle.

From from Steep slopes, and carefully selected grapes, long maceration spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.

The Teufelskeller is our steepest vineyard (in some parts almost 80%) with limestone and a high iron oxide content in the soil that gives this wine its distinctive aroma of limes with a flinty tang.
