Description

Chateau Faugeres has a long history in St. Emilion dating back to 1619 when the vineyard was cultivated by Andre de Faugeres, which is where the property takes its name from.

In 1987, the vineyards were taken over by the Guisez family who was direct descendants of the Esquissaud family who had owned the property since 1823. Under the direction of Pierre-Bernard Guisez and his wife Corinne Guisez, Chateau Faugeres began improving their work in the vineyards and in the cellars.

This has to led marked improvements yearly by the winey producing a great quality Value for Money wine.

Tasting Notes

Grape Blend: 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

Full-bodied and dark ruby/purple, with a nose of graphite, pen ink, blueberries and black raspberries, the wine is deep, dense and pure, with a broad, savory texture and a long finish with no astringency. Drink this beauty over the next 15-20 years.”
