Description

Château Lynch-Bages (Cinquièmes Cru) is a renowned Classified Fifth Growth Bordeaux wine estate famous for its consistently high-quality, classic red wines.
Located in Pauillac, on the left bank of the Gironde, the estate extends over about one hundred hectares. The vines are on the Bages plateau, one of the most beautiful gravelly ridges of the appellation and the vineyards neighbor Châteaux Mouton Rothschild and Latour benefits.
The origins of the estate date back to the 16th century. In the 18th century, Irishman Michel Lynch shaped the property by selecting the best grape varieties and innovating in viticulture. Remaining in the Lynch family for 75 years, the estate changed hands in the 19th century, before Jean-Charles Cazes took over its management in 1939, opening a new era. Since then, the Cazes family has continuously modernized the vineyard and strengthened the château's reputation.
Known for delivering outstanding quality across many vintages, Château Lynch-Bages has a very strong reputation.

Tasting Notes

Blend: 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot.

The 2022 Lynch-Bages is one of the most muscular, chunky wines of the vintage in the Médoc, offering up aromas of dark berries, cherry preserve, pencil shavings and creamy new oak, followed by a full-bodied, rich and extracted palate that's dense and blocky. While Lynch-Bages always seems to come together with time, the 2022 is certainly going to require some patience.

Serving Suggestions

It goes ideally well with pork, chicken, roast and game meat, grilled or roasted and medium mature cheeses
