Chateau Rauzan-Ségla has a long and interesting history dating back to 1661. It is a classified Second Growth in the Margaux Appellation of Bordeaux. It is owned by the Chanel Group (Wertheimer family) who are also owners of Chateau Canon. The winery has been on an upward trajectory in terms of wine quality for the last 20 years bringing with it consistent great ratings alongside a commitment to ensuring their vineyards are harvested using the best methods.

Grape Blend: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot

Deep garnet colored, the 2011 Rauzan-Ségla displays a series of earthy notes to begin—truffles, moss-covered bark, fungi and tilled soil—over a core of redcurrant jelly, blackberry pie and mincemeat with hints of sandalwood, new leather and fallen leaves. Medium-bodied with a firm line of chewy, slightly rustic tannins, it has a great core of earth-laced black fruits with provocative freshness and a long mineral-tinged finish.
