Sassicaia is an iconic Italian "Super Tuscan" red wine from Tenuta San Guido in Tuscany, known for its Bordeaux-like style, elegance, and high quality, primarily a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown in stony soils (from which it gets its name).

First released commercially in 1968, it established its own unique Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC appellation and is celebrated for its complexity, featuring notes of currants, tobacco, herbs, and spice, with great aging potential.

The 2020 Guidalberto is taut and tight with plenty of tart cherry and wild berry. The wine offers great freshness and tension with bay leaf, spice, wild cherry and pressed lavender buds. There is a hint of black olive too. Drink 2024-2034
